Caleb and Summer Shocklie
Caleb and Summer Shocklie are serving in Scotland as church planters and engage in relational ministry in their community. They are passionate about the local church, discipleship, training ministry leaders, sharing the gospel, and hospitality.
The Phoenix natives met in high school. They both attended Grand Canyon University, where Caleb studied Christian Studies and Summer studied Elementary Education. After graduation, they got married in 2017 and attended and served in a local church plant in Phoenix called The Spring Midtown (now called Midtown Presbyterian). Summer and Caleb have led in a variety of ministry opportunities over the years both on staff and as volunteers in the local church. This includes children and youth ministry, short term mission trips, leading bible studies, discipleship, and preaching.
In 2018, after many years of feeling called to serve in the U.K., Caleb and Summer partnered with Alliance for Transatlantic Theological Training (AT-3), a two-year apprenticeship focused on recruiting, training and sending the next generation of Gospel workers to the United Kingdom. They worked with Hope City Church Edinburgh, where Caleb apprenticed full time and had the opportunity to learn and serve in many different roles. Summer was a part-time apprentice and focused on working outside the home, engaging in hospitality ministry, and evangelism in a post Christian context.
Caleb is ordained through the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO) and obtained his M.A. in Theology from the Union School of Theology in Wales in 2021.
They are excited to work alongside local Scots and plant a church in a nation that desperately needs the gospel.
