Refugees: Strategic Ambassadors for Christ
God’s fingerprints are evident in the midst of our current global refugee crisis. God is raising up bold ambassadors for Jesus from among these displaced peoples. This is the case for some Christian brothers and sisters from the Middle East who were forced to flee their home countries because of persecution and in some cases imprisonment. Thankfully, they have been welcomed as refugees in a European country, and two of these couples are now connected to The Antioch Partners (TAP). TAP is serving them as they minister to fellow refugees and immigrants in their new cities. Read more to find out how you can pray and partner with them.
Ali and Sara* are being used by God in strategic ways in their new home in Europe. Ali is pastoring a church of refugees and immigrants in a major city. Through the church they assist their neighbors in practical ways, building relationships through which they are able to share the Good News of Jesus. They are fully engaged in discipleship relationships, and Sara is deeply involved in ministering to women. Ali is also teaching in a ministry that is equipping house church leaders in the country he was forced to leave, as well as helping create a structure that will serve and support other diaspora churches. Ali and Sara are doing all this as they parent their wonderful kids and learn the language and culture of their new home.
Another couple, Hossein and Ariana*, are also serving their fellow refugees and immigrants in a different European city. In addition to their focus on evangelism and discipleship, Hossein is working with an exciting collaborative effort that will provide practical training to others called to diaspora ministry in Europe. This training will take place in three languages, and they will serve other refugees and immigrants, as well as those called from other parts of the world to be missionaries to these communities. They, too, are doing all this as they parent their growing family and learn the language and culture of their new country.
If you are interested in partnering through prayer or financial support with either of these amazing couples, you can reach out to Andrew Adair (andrew@theantiochpartners.org) with TAP and he will gladly explore with you what that might look like.
